"Closed for the Season!" What does that mean?
It means our lavender plants are about to face their second winter. Wish them luck! Whatever makes it until next season will determine our strategy moving forward. If any varieties do exceptionally well, we’ll plant more. If nothing survives, we may have to shift our focus to other medicinal flowers, or beekeeping! It also means we survived our second season, and that from now until May we’re just an an online store, and hosting workshops by appointment. To summarize, here are three ways you can get your lavender needs met all winter long:
1. Shop our online store
All the skincare, kitchen linens, culinary, and homemade products we sell under the willows are available online for delivery anywhere in the US. Keep your eyes open for some experimental holiday gifts, in case you’re into that kind of thing. Check it out here.
2. Sign up for our Soap of the Month Club
Soap is easier and way more fun to make when we thought, and we have a lot of recipes we want to try. We’ve also noticed that once you go homemade, it’s hard to go back to harsh store-bought soap. How much soap do you use every month? We’d love to become your new supplier. Sign up here.
3. Schedule a workshop!
Our Story...
In the spring of 2015 Madelyn bought a small lavender plant at the hardware and planted it in a ceramic pot. She put it near the driveway and grabbed a sprig every time she left the house in the morning. She loved it so much she joked to people that she might just get dozens more and turn the big front yard into a lavender farm. After a couple of High Country downpours, the plant got moldy and died. The dead lavender sat in its pot reminding her of her negligence, and in the spring of 2016, against all the odds she decided to give this lavender business a try.
Seasons 1 and 2 were a success with a great deal of help from some High Country plant lovers. We planted lavender in raised beds and swales to encourage maximum soil drainage, and sold a beautiful assortment of products in a little cabin on the lawn. We have hosted tea parties, live music, croquet tournament, and Fairy Day!
